Sheer desperation led me to grasp a glimmer of hope from the various websites at work along with Basher's throw away remark about land breeze topping up the Northerlies in the evening (Boards forum "Looking Ahead"). So a 70 mile round trip for a very little, I definitely need to pack a bigger board or just not bother.

Got to Portland to see a few people out on beginner kit with one or two die-hards planing in the gusts but I thought I may as well go out after the rush hour drive to cool off. Got planing a couple of times and nailed a few heli tacks but it was not worth the effort in all honesty.

So desperate for a sail that me and my fiance have booked a week in Vass at the end of July when we should be saving for the wedding. Hope I get some time on the water before that.
